After Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch, next is Washington Mutual (WaMu). Where is US economy going? Once the most strong, fastest growing and stable economy of the world is now collapsing in top speed.

Wall Street Journal wrote

“In what is by far the largest bank failure in U.S. history, federal regulators seized Washington Mutual Inc. and struck a deal to sell the bulk of its operations to J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. Federal regulators said WaMu has suffered an exodus of $16.7 billion in deposits since Sept. 15, leaving the Seattle thrift “with insufficient liquidity to meet its obligations.” As a result, WaMu was in “an unsafe and unsound condition to transact business,” according to the Office of Thrift Supervision.”

JP Morgan has came up as saviour for the second US banking major, earlier this year JP Morgan also aquired the investment bank Bear Sterns. This is 13th major banking failure in US this year which raises question on the US economy in the near future. As the US elections are also near, next forming government will need to look seriously in the future operations of US banks and financial institutes.

Google Chrome browser, which analysts say, will bring the revolution in the browsers market and will give a run for money to other browsers, mainly to Internet Explorer. On September 2, Google has launched their anticipated web browser named Chrome. Why has it named chrome? For the answer you and the technology behind it read the book on the Google Chrome site which they call it as Chrome comic.

After the launch of Google Chrome, lot of people (including me) has fallen in love with the Chrome. It is pretty fast, reliable and unlike Internet Explorer and Firefox stays still even though one of the tabs get crashed.

As Google’s other products, Google Chrome is also in beta version but still giving competition to the advanced and developed versions of Internet Explorer and Firefox. Google Chrome can be installed from here.

Tata (Bye-Bye) to Singur!

Tata Nano
Tata Nano

So, the dies and the critical machines to manufacture the under USD 2500 Tata Nano car being moved out of the not so lucky town ofSingur. Some people towns and politicians of those people and towns do not come to know when a good thing happens to them.

If Mr. Ratan Tata decides to take the venture to a small town in Brazil or China, the Government of the country, the politicians from the town, the normal people of the town will not only welcome him and his team they will also change the law and make the atmosphere so hospitable that Mr. Ratan Tata would never think of coming back to India and starting his next venture.

I think Haryana, with its very large Auto and Auto ancilliary industry, would be the best bet for Tata Nano.

And finally my rant against that old fiendish woman who ensured that Singur stays poor and deprived is how will you bring happiness to the present and coming generation of that and surrounding towns. Shame on you, Ms. Mamta Banerjee and I hope we do not see your mug and ideas for a long time to come. It will happen after the next election.

Now the question is how will Microsoft lust the customers to stay in the mobile OS battle with Apple and Google. Where Google Android and Apple iPhone are offering free applications through their online application stores, Market Place and App Store respectively, Microsoft has not yet announced any similar strategy.

Whereas the Google and Microsoft has the edge over Apple because they only need to work seamlessly on the OS part of the mobile only, Apple has to plan for the hardware also. As per the analysts G1 can not make the similar impact as the iPhone.

I am not sure people are going to be lining up at stores for this device,” said Rajeev Chand, an analyst with Rutberg & Company. “The iPhone was a game changer from a consumer perspective. The Google phone may be more of game changer from an industry perspective.

Well, who will take the edge will be clear in the coming month when G1 will come in the hands of the consumers and techies.
