Business News for Men and TV Serials for Women

Whenever men are in front of TV, it’s always Sensex or corporate buyouts. When women are in front of TV, it’s daily soaps or reality shows.

In today’s world, television is not only a source of entertainment or information and knowledge but it has taken a place of another family member in the households. But still the same perception dominates in the discussions

Business News for Men and TV Serials for Women

Whereas if we look into the today’s modern families not only men but women are now interested in the business news and not only women but also men knows what’s going on in the daily soaps. Every member of the family gives his/her opinion that who will stay till the end of the reality shows. Earlier, families use to spend time together playing various table games such as carom-board but now we prefer to play live contest of the reality shows which are more fruitful, in sense of contest prizes, rather than spending quality time with the family in recreational activities.

Work culture at Keane

I had worked with Keane India for about 1 year (before it was taken over by Caritor, USA), that duration was kind of golden period for the employees of the Keane India. There were lot of onsite opportunities in almost every project with regular rotational basis.

Even I had been to Halifax, Canada for about 3 months for an onsite assignment from Keane. It was a really great experience as that was my first foreign working experience. People were very warm and helpful. As in India, it is widely believed that Canada is very hot destination for Sikh community. But to my surprise I only saw 2 Sikhs in the 3 months of duration. Whereas there were lot of people from other South-Asian countries like Pakistan and Bangladesh. For the information sake for the people who are planning or going to Canada, most of the Sikh community is settled in Vancouver.

Keane was used to be known for their good working environment but now it has been in news from firing people quickly and mostly picking the fresh grads from the campuses around India.

iPhone 3G Experience

iPhone 3G

I bought my first Apple product, i.e. Apple iPhone 3G. I was the second person to buy the iPhone 3G from Hyderabad’s Airtel showroom when it launched in India on 22 August, 2008. I preferred for a black 16GB handset, simply magnificant in the first look. I should say Apple has a class of style for every thing. However it was Rs.5,100 extra from the base 8GB model (8GB for Rs.31,000 and 16GB for Rs.36,100), but I have always preferred a better configuration in gadgets.

It’s already been around 1 month I have used it and I had come the following conclusion

Points to avoid

  • Short battery life (Might be I am using push mail).
  • Higher cost (But at least no additional monthly commitments).

Points to go for it

  • Big storage.
  • iPod.
  • Light and sleek.
  • Best User Interface.
  • Lots of free applications at one single place, i.e. App Store.
  • Last but not least………………………it’s Apple after all.
Well to be true, I am satisfied with it.
I will keep posting about my experience of iPhone 3G.

Car rented in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada…..

Toyota Yaris

Toyota Yaris

It was a really good experience for driving a Toyota Yaris in Canada. First when I picked the car from the rental service (I choosed Discount Cars and Trucks as car was only available with them), I thought that it will not be so easy to handle and drive the car here but all opposite to my thoughts I did not find any difficulty in driving a car in the different direction than India. We have gone to a long drive to Peggy’s Cove as that was a really beautiful place. It got lot of rocks on the shore and a small lighthouse too. Later from there we went to Rainbow Haven Beach in Dartmouth, it was a really fantastic experience there. But it was late so we could not spend much time there. Rest in next one…..
